National Certificate in Counselling – Level 4 – is an entry-level qualification designed for individuals seeking to develop their knowledge and skills in counselling support and pursue professional training and employment in this field.
This qualification prepares graduates to provide counselling support services at a foundational level, suitable for roles such as chaplains, social workers, community workers, community nurses, student support workers, police or prison officers, and youth workers. While graduates will be equipped to work under professional supervision and establish effective relationships with clients, this qualification does not qualify them to become professional practitioners in social services.
Graduates will gain essential competencies in community advocacy, trauma awareness, assessment tools, record keeping, and ethical practices, positioning them for further training in counselling.
Career Pathway – counselling support assistant, community outreach worker, and positions in non-profit organizations, with opportunities for advancement into higher-level qualifications in counselling.
