Course Description
National Certificate in Tourism [Introductory Skills] – Level 2 – is a pre-entry qualification designed for individuals currently engaged in or entering the tourism industry in basic positions. Its primary aim is to equip graduates with the essential skills and knowledge necessary to support and enhance the visitor experience while recognizing the significance of tourism to Fiji’s economy.
This qualification provides a foundation for future employment opportunities and allows individuals to work under supervision across various tourism career pathways.
Graduates will possess basic customer service skills, an understanding of regional characteristics relevant to tourists, and knowledge of the tourism industry’s role, enabling them to plan realistic career pathways. While this qualification is not a prerequisite for higher-level tourism qualifications, such as the National Certificate in Tourism (Introductory Skills) (Level 3), it lays the groundwork for further training in the industry.
Career Pathway – Junior customer service assistants, Tour Guides, Receptionist in hotels or travel agencies and support staff in tourism-related business.
